“Toshiba, Gets ahead in Samsung with new generation semiconductor technology.”
To be in reconstruction, Toshiba gets ahead in Samsung with new generation semiconductor technology, Nihon Keizai Japanese news said.
According to Nihon Keizai, Toshiba will launch production of new technologies applied in the NAND flash memory segment for smart phones next year.
The technology called Nano Imprint Lighting (NIL) is an ambitious in cooperation with Dainippon and Canon. This way of production can cut 30% cost of original way using their own method.
The memory could look into the whole manufacturing process to reduce the cost of about 10%. Flash memory applied the new technology with will be invested 8,600 billion yen next year.
It will be started manufacturing next year in Yokkaichi, Japan. NAND flash memory is used a lot and also expected to increase the demand for a data storage device such as smartphone, video.
After accounting manipulation scandal in Toshiba, they decided disposal of home appliance and medical device business then focused on semiconductor and nuclear power plants for reconstruction.
Especially it seems like that putting the investment on competitive semiconductor sector then gets ahead Samsung with the fact that Toshiba invests a huge amount of money on NAND flash memory of the world’s second largest market share.
Many global semiconductor enterprises including Toshiba are facing difficulty making new semiconductor performance. Therefore they are in tough completion concentrating on new generation of production technology development and commercialization.
